This year I began using a simplified color scheme in most of the scrapbooks I design for others and myself. Here is my formula: · 3 to 5 solid cardstocks · 1 to 4 pattern papers · 1 to 3 types of embellishments or techniques By limiting the supplies you have to choose from, you can focus more of your time on designing your layout and completing your journaling. Using this formula, I now finish layouts at a faster rate. When supplies are limited to a few sheets of coordinating paper and embellishments your scrapbook tends to have a more uniform feel. This formula is perfect for themed books. Currently, I arrange my paper choices in two formats: classic and fun. When using the classic format the same color cardstock is used as the background for all of the layouts. With this format the viewer knows what to expect each time the page is turned. Having this expectation the viewer can focus more on the photographs, memorabilia and journaling. The cardstock backgrounds are alternated from layout to layout using the fun format. This format tends to give the viewer a “surprise” each time a page is turned. The viewer would have to evaluate the whole layout because each layout seems different from the last. Now you no longer have to worry about which shade of pink matches your shirt. :) And you can get a few more pages done. This article is from the Distinctive Moments Summer 2007 Newsletter. Make your wedding day stand out by adding your own personal touch throughout. By using the colors and theme you have chosen for your wedding you can create your own custom wedding items. Stationery Set the tone for your wedding by creating custom save-the-date items, invitations, announcements and thank you cards. By incorporating the same color scheme, font, and paper type, your custom wedding items will be unified. Ceremony Instead of having a plain guestbook, create a scrapbook with your engagement photos, quotes and plenty of room for your guests to sign in. Keeping the theme of your stationery you can also print your own programs. Reception Give your reception table a look of distinction with place cards in the font and color scheme used in your stationery. You can create gift tags to be attached to your wedding favors, as well as custom bookmarks and other favors. Before the wedding, create an engagement album to display at the reception. The album can include photographs and memorabilia from the different stages of your lives apart as well together. Incorporate some or all of the ideas mentioned above. Supplies can be found at any local scrapbook store, or online. Idea books, including a vast array of custom wedding ideas, can also be found at your local scrapbook store. Be sure to obtain the assistance your family, friends, and wedding party when producing your custom wedding items. Not only will their extra hands be of great help but this would also be a good time to bond. If you don’t feel that you are creative enough, or don’t have the time to complete your custom wedding items you can hire someone to produce them for you. In the end not only will you have put your personal touch on the wedding, but you’ll also have a lifetime of memories. This article is from the Distinctive Moments Summer 2007 Newsletter. One of the most important elements of a bride’s wedding day is her gown. The gown represents her personal style and is a personal statement about her. This is an important purchase that she may choose to keep beyond her wedding day. Her wedding gown would serve as a reminder of her wedding day. The wedding gown could also be preserved as a family heirloom to be handed down to her children or grand children. To keep a wedding gown looking as beautiful as the first time worn, it should be preserved. When preserving a wedding gown it is cleaned and packaged for long-term storage. Distinctive Moments carries the Wedding Gown Preservation Co. preservation kits. The Wedding Gown Preservation Co. has been in business since 1913. The wedding gown should be preserved as soon possible after the wedding, before visible and invisible stains have time to set. Be sure to preserve the veil and other keepsakes as well. Once preserved the wedding gown should not be stored in an attic or basement but in the living area of a home where there is not too much fluctuation in temperature and humidity. Ideally the wedding gown should be placed in a dark cool place. It should not be exposed to excessive light, dust and other hazards. The packaging containing the wedding gown should not be vacuum-sealed. Vacuum sealing traps in fumes and moisture, which leads to mold, mildew and eventually the deterioration of the gown. The Wedding Gown Preservation Co. does not vacuum seal their preservation chests. By preserving her wedding gown a bride can have a lasting tangible memory of one of the most unforgettable days of her life. This article is from the Distinctive Moments Summer 2007 Newsletter. I received a newsletter from Serendipity Scrapbooks recently and I read that they where holding a Cyber Crop in August. I’d seen Cyber Crop mentioned on various Message Boards but I didn’t know how one was operated. So I did a little research (Cyber research). Here is what I found out: · Several Scrapbooking Forms and discussion groups host Cyber Crops. · On a specific date participants gather online in a form or chat room to complete challenges, play games, and have lots of fun. · All challenges and games have to be completed by a specific date and time. · Participants get to complete a lot of layouts when they compete in the challenges. · Participants chat with other and share their designs in a online gallery. · Winners are chosen either by the host, participants (polls), or by a point system. · Many prizes can be won. So there you have it. Do a search on Cyber Crops and I’m sure you’ll find the perfect one for you.
ReadySo here is the plan. Periodically, I’ll post sketches I’ve created on the computer. By the end of the week, I’ll post a layout or card using the sketch. Set

I created a pre-made 6x6 chipboard album for my hairdresser. She’ll be able to use put pictures of her new shop in it. Enjoy Pink Minimized.
